The sabbatical team this year are all ex students who have been elected to help run the students' union on a full time basis. They are:
Aaron Porter, 22, who was last year's Vice President Finance and Services, has been elected as the new Academic Affairs Officer. He will be the principal representative of the Students' Union to the university, and he will also sit on a number of university committees, ensuring the student voice is heard at all levels of the University. Alongside his role at Leicester, Aaron is also a Director for NUS Services Limited, the commercial arm of NUS.
Graham Ross, 22, is the new Student Activities Officer. He is going to oversee, through relevant committees, the grant allocations for student groups, as well as be the primary point of contact for student groups.
James Laden, 21, has been elected as the Services Officer. He is in charge of the day to day running of the Students' Union, and he will also oversee the bars and entertainment department.
Alex Smith, 20, has been elected Campaigns and Involvement Officer. He will oversee and co-ordinate the campaigning work of the union, especially the priority campaigns.
Laura Egan, 21, is the new Welfare and International Officer. She will act as the principal point of contact between the students' union and the university's welfare and international offices, as well as be responsible for the implementation of the Students' Union Equal Opportunities policy.
Please feel free to get in touch with them about any issue that's affecting you or any comments/questions/concerns about what the students' union does. If you're not exactly sure who to contact, get in touch with Alex and he'll guide you to the right person to deal with your concern.
They're here to make the union better for you and can only do it if they know what you want!
