The Union Spaker shall:

If the Union Speaker fails to attend two consecutive General Meetings or Union Council Meetings without having given their apologies, they shall be deemed to have resigned their post.

Chair all meetings of Union Council and General Meetings according to the Standing Orders.
Chair the election debates for sabbatical elections or arrange for a member of the Steering Committee to chair election debates.
Cede the Chair to a disinterested party at Union Council or at General Meetings during any debate about elections.
Be the Deputy Returning Officer in all Union Elections.
Be impartial in all Union Elections.
Hold no other position within the Union, Union Council or Committee other than the ones specified in this Constitution.
As Union Speaker-Elect attend all General Meetings and Union Council Meetings.
