So what does the Societies' Officer do?

Be responsible for increasing the involvement of Societies in the Union’s affairs.
Working with the Sabbaticals and Student Development Officer to help publicise freshers' week/any other Society linked Campaigns to societies and to be involved in any receptions that are held for societies.
Liaise with Societies and relevant staff to raise awareness of activities, services and training available to Societies.
Offer impartial advice and support to Societies on Union rules and operating practices.
Be responsible for representing the Societies’ interests in Union Council and any Union Committees the Societies Representative sits on.
Be responsible for ensuring good lines of communication with Societies during hand over periods after Society internal elections.
To attend any relevant training provided by the Students Union.
