The Students' Union is a democratic organisation, run by students and has a number of elected positions available for students to take up.
The elections for these are held at three different times each year. These elections are run by the Elections and Rules Committee and have an Independent Returning Officer.
Any student is entitled to take part in the elections. So if you are interested look out for more information that will be posted here on the website and also for posters around campus. You can find more information about the positions in the website as well as by talking to one of the Executive Officers.
Autumn Term Elections are held in October for the following positions:
One Officer without Portfolio from each Union Committee with such position
Five Union Council Officers
Five First Year Union Council Officers
Postgraduate Education Representatives
NUS Conference Committee

Sabbatical Officer Elections are held at the start Second Semester over a four week period for the following positions:
Academic Affairs Officer
Campaigns and Involvement Officer
Services Officer
Student Activities Officer
Welfare and International Officer
