THE ACCOMMODATION SERVICE

The Accommodation service offered to student’s is two fold.

The first service is the Private Sector Accommodation service and the second is the Property Management Scheme.

Private Sector Accommodation

Students in all years can benefit from the Private Sector Accommodation service.

Advice can be obtained from the accommodation officer on a wide range of housing issues such as council tax, signing contracts and dealing with dodgy landlords!

If the accommodation officer is unable to help you with a query they should be able to point you in the right direction to someone who should be able to help.

If you have an accommodation query you contact the office via phone, email or pop into the office at any time. Booking an appointment maybe necessary during busy times.

Property Management Scheme

The Students’ Union also runs a Property Management scheme. The aim of this scheme is to provide a hassle-free service to students. All dealings with the landlord go through the office resulting in a quick and effective system that benefits students. Houses on this scheme have to meet a minimum standard set by the Union to ensure that the houses are safe and secure homes.

There are no fees attached to this scheme which means the rent levels are a true    reflection of the property.

If you have any question contact Cindy Chan.

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

This is your chance to get involved!

Student Development helps students to get the most out of University.

It's not all about books and lectures, University is also about meeting new people, trying new things, and developing your skills. In Student Development we help to manage all of the Union's societies and associations, which provide students with the opportunity to do pretty much anything they like in their leisure time. We have a whole range of societies for you to join, from Skydiving to Cheerleading, from Psychology to the Vikings. You can develop your own skills by joining a committee, or if your interest isn't covered then you can form a society of your own.

Student Development also runs 'Come and Try', which organises trips at cost price, such as to Dublin and Alton Towers, whilst also acting as a box office for student group and Union events.
