Changing my Personal Tutor

Please note that the advice on this page is based on the Undergraduate Regulations. Any postgraduate students who require advice on this topic please contact us(at educationunit@le.ac.uk) and we will be able to help you out.

One of the major causes of problems that we face year in year out at the Education Unit is the issue of student difficulties not being dealt with at an early stage. Often it is easier to resolve problems quickly and effectively without causing too much distress if advice is sought straight away.

If you have a problem then you MUST seek advice early on and not let problems grow bigger. All personal tutors are given guidance from the University and have a duty to provide you with help and advice on academic and non-academic issues. However, some students do not for whatever reason 'get on' with their personal tutor and therefore problems develop because they do not go and speak to anyone within their department.

What Can I do?

Every Student has the right to change their personal tutor!

  • Simply go along to the Head of Department and ask for a different personal tutor
If you encounter any problems or you want to complain about a personal tutor, either speak to your Head of Department or contact the Education Unit for advice by -
