1st Year Students
Most 1st year courses are in affect qualifying years for the remaining part of the course. This means that only the 2nd and 3rd year of the course counts towards the final degree classification. Therefore if you have suffered from problems during the year but have passed the year your department will generally not wish you to retake any exams but to progress to the next year of the course.
If you haven't done as well as you expected then this is an ideal opportunity to find out where you went wrong, and how you can improve in the future. Your department and the Student Learning Centre will be able to help you with this.
