UNIVERSITY OF LEICESTER CRICKET CLUB

The outdoor cricket season starts as soon as the summer term begins and continues until June when term ends. We enter two sides into the BUCS championship, which is played at fifty overs per innings, with additional friendly fixtures.

 

At first XI level, we compete at a high standard. The second XI standard isn't as tough but is very competitive. The third XI play at a friendly level. Matches are played on Wednesday or Sunday afternoons.

During the winter, we run weekly net sessions using the excellent facilities at the Manor Road sports centre, where we aim to improve all players. We run two indoor sides during the closed season that compete in the Leicestershire and Rutland indoor championship. The first VI is entered into the BUCS indoor championship.

The club is friendly, sociable and is an excellent place to meet new people. All members are made to feel welcome and part of the team, especially once the summer term begins.
